ASSAULT: INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE ORDERS THE ARREST OF SEUN KUTI WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR has ordered the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command to arrest Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, who was captured on video assaulting a police officer in uniform.
The IGP has equally ordered a speedy and full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and prosecution of the suspect accordingly.
IGP Usman Alkali Baba assures Nigerians that acts of contempt/disdain for symbols of authority will not be tolerated while offenders of such hideous crimes will be surely brought to the book.
It will be recalled that, Afrobeat artiste, Seun Kuti, has been captured in a viral video assaulting a police operative on duty.
Explaining his action via Instagram on Saturday, Kuti said the officer attempted to kill him and his family members.
Responding to the incident, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi says the police will speak soon.
A tweet from Adejobi partly reads:.” It’s unbelievable, but such happens for people to learn lessons. We shall be back.”
