BREAKING: Nigerian Premier League Slams N9.5million Fine, 3-Point Deduction, Stadium Ban On Kano Pillars Over Pitch Violence
The Nigeria Premier Football League has slammed Kano Pillars with heavy sanctions after violent scenes erupted during their home clash with Shooting Stars SC in Kano.
The league fined the club ₦9.5 million, deducted three points and three goals, and ordered Pillars to play their home games in Katsina for the rest of the season following the indefinite closure of the Sani Abacha Stadium.
Kano Pillars were found guilty of several breaches — including failure to control supporters, inadequate security, and assault on match officials and visiting players.
The NPFL has also ordered the club to identify and prosecute all pitch invaders and submit proof of improved security measures within seven days.
This decision follows public outrage and viral videos showing fans invading the pitch and attacking players.
