How University of Maiduguri Professor Killed by her Own Car in Freak incident – Police
Prof. Ruth Haruna Wazis, former Head of the Department of Business Management, University of Maiduguri, has been killed by her own car in what the police in Borno State have described as a freak accident.
After returning from a function, Professor Wazis parked the car in her garage and was making her way out of the garage when the vehicle ,due to what the Police described as a mechanical fault , suddenly accelerated by itself, knocked the professor down , and overrunning her in the chest area , killing her in the process before help could come.
She was later confirmed dead at the hospital where she was rushed to.
According to the State Commissioner of Police, CP Yusuf Lawal who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the incident occurred on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
