A young man has taken to social media to express disappointment after he claimed to have given his mother some huge amount of money to keep for him while working overseas.

According to the man identified as Anthony Okamari, he noted that he was disappointed about his mother after she lavished the money which he sent for her while toiling in a foreign country.

Mr Anthony claimed that he had sent about ₦2.6 million for the mother to save for him only to find out upon his return that there was only ₦19,000 Naira left out of the money.

The young had secured a good job in 2018 at a construction company in Qatar through the help of his elder brother, who already lived in the gulf country.

Anthony, who is yet to recover from the shock as he struggles daily to keep his life going on, said that while in Qatar he used to send about 83% of his earnings to his mother with the instruction that she opens a savings account and keep the money for him till he returns.

While working abroad for about two years under the scorching sun in Doha, he planned to use the money which he had been sending to build a house, marry a wife when he returns home, and he was full of hope that his dreams would soon materialize.

Unfortunately,y when things became hard, the company where he works closed down, dropping all their employees due to inability to pay them and Anthony’s attempt to find another job before his work permit expires was not successful.

Though he never got enough money as he would have wanted, he had no option than to return to his homeland thinking the money he has been sending for his mother to save would help him start up a new life in Kenya.

He was surprised to find out that the money he has been sending is being used to solve family problems as the mother disclosed to him that there was only about ₦19,000 left from the over ₦2.6 million he had sent.

The mother gave him the details on how the money was spent on family problems during a difficult time they had experienced. Also,o he was told that a bigger percentage of the money was used to pay school fees for his sister’s children.

With no money, place to stay and out of disappointment he was forced to move into his brother’s one-bedroom house located in another town alongside his girlfriend.

The young man narrated how he has been passing through difficulties with his sibling, who kept urging him to get a job, move out of the house or go back to the village.

His girlfriend was embarrassed by the news and she had to leave after his sibling sat them down to asked what their plans were in life, he told Tuko amid sobbing.

Mr Anthony now hopes one day he will be able to move on with his life and leave behind the disappointment he got from his mother, whom he trusted so much after years of toiling in a foreign country.
