“My official statement to the NBA And Nigerians. Please I’m not the one on Twitter I have never been on Twitter.
I have been silent for so long because I’m not the type to talk too much but it’s finally time I speak up & clear my name. Dearest @Nigerianbar, I don’t bother anyone. I’m a model, actress and musician and all I do is live, mind my business and chase my dreams. Please, kindly leave me alone 🙏🏿 Thanks, she said.
Newsmediang reports that The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has filed petitions at the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) against Ifunanya Excel Grant, “the baddest lawyer” for indecent dressing and smoking marijuana on social media.
Ifunanya has been posting pictures of herself in revealing outfits, which goes against the conservative standards of the legal profession.
This has raised concerns within the legal community, as the legal field is known for its traditional and professional image.
However, Ifunanya Grant’s behaviour has not been well-received by the NBA, and they have decided to investigate the matter.
In a statement released at the weekend, NBA said: “Following the resolutions of the National Officers, the NBA has filed petitions at the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) against Ifunanya Excel Grant, a young lawyer of Aba Branch widely known as “the baddest lawyer” on social media.”
NBA said the complaints against Miss Ifunanya centred on her social media notoriety of posting pictures and videos of herself unclad and smoking marijuana.
The statement by Akorede Habeeb Lawal, NBA National Publicity Secretary, said the allegations of sexual assault against the suspended Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar, Prof. Cyril Ndifon, is also being investigated as well as the alleged attempted bribe of Justice Flora Azinge of the National Assembly and State House of Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Kano.
