Lagos and Chinese Firm Ink MoU for Lekki-Epe Link Bridge Construction
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) in Beijing, China, aimed at enhancing the road network in Lagos State. The MoU, which focuses on the construction of the Lekki-Epe Link Bridge, underscores the state’s commitment to improving transportation infrastructure for its residents.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a statement shared on X.com, emphasized that the project is part of Lagos State’s strategic transport master plan, which aims to reduce traffic congestion and support economic growth by enhancing key road networks.
Additionally, the Governor signed another MoU to implement solar power systems across several tertiary institutions in Lagos, including Lagos State University and its campuses. These solar systems, expected to generate around 50 MW, will provide cleaner and more affordable electricity, reinforcing the state’s commitment to sustainable energy.
The signing ceremony was attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
