Murphy Afolabi Death: Lawyer calls for Autopsy to ascertain the cause of death
A legal Practitioner, Barr. Adesina Ogunlana has raised a fundamental question rather in a rhetorical way out of the sudden death of Murphy Afolabi. The lawyer believed in a post shared on his Facebook page that the cause of his death might not be ordinary as we have all been made to believe to have been falling off from his bathroom and he was said to have hit his head on the floor which resulted in his sudden death.
“I reckon that Nigeria must be one of the safest places in the world to commit domestic murder. A stocky, well-built chap just reportedly fell like that in that bathroom and conked off.”
“Nobody is raising eyebrows, nobody is asking for an autopsy ….all you hear is ‘Alas, that is his destiny ‘ gone so soon’ etc
Chai, what an uncritical mass of people
?! He wrote”.
However, Barely a few hours after the tragic news of the death of Murphy Afolabi broke out, details about his burial have surfaced online. According to blogger, @emiraltyafrica, the actor will be buried in his hometown of Osogbo on May 15, 2023.
According to the report, the decision was made after an agreement was reached by his son, family members and some Nollywood stakeholders who were present.
Until his death, Afolabi was a traditionalist, described as a ‘force’ in Osogbo.
The Yoruba movie star is said to have fallen in his bathroom and hit his head on the floor leading to his death. Afolabi who celebrated his birthday barely a week ago on Friday, May 5, was one of the popular stars to have emerged from the Yoruba film industry.
In a post by his colleague, Tunde Ola Yusuf on his Instagram page, the Yoruba actor was confirmed dead in the early hours of Sunday.
“We lost a strong Filmmaker Murphy Afolabi. May God rest your soul bro,” he wrote
In another post by his colleague, Odunlade Adekola wrote, “Jesus Christ, we lost Murphy.”
