Norwegian Man Boards Plane Without Ticket for Two Consecutive Days – Police
A Norwegian man successfully boarded a plane at Munich Airport without a ticket for two consecutive days, with his second flight taking him to Sweden, police reported on Tuesday.
The 39-year-old first breached security at Germany’s second-busiest airport on August 4. He evaded the automatic boarding pass scanner by positioning himself near another traveler, according to Bild.
Once inside, he managed to bypass airline staff and board the plane. However, since the flight was fully booked, his lack of a seat led to his discovery. The man was detained by police, charged, and then released.
Undeterred, the Norwegian returned the following day and employed the same tactic to board a flight to Sweden that was not fully booked. Upon arriving in Stockholm, he drew attention by seeking to return to Munich immediately and was subsequently handed over to local police.
Police spokesperson Sebastian Pinta confirmed that the man did not pose a security threat. He is now under investigation for unlawful entry and transport fraud. Munich Airport is currently reviewing how the security lapses occurred.
