A pastor in Botswana, known for having two wives and many children, caused a buzz on the internet when he expressed his intention to take a third wife. The pastor, named Sekati Kemmonye, took to Facebook to share his desire to visit polygamous families within and outside the country before making the decision. He even mentioned that he would officiate two polygamous marriages before the end of the year.
In his post, Sekati referred to singer Akon, who has four wives, as an example of a polygamous lifestyle.
He wrote, “I would love to visit polygamous families in or outside the country! I would like to do that before I marry my 3rd and final wife. Want to learn a few things before I make such a commitment.”
He also shared that he would officiate two polygamous marriages later in the year, adding, “You will be cordially invited!”
The pastor’s post attracted various reactions from social media users. Some expressed surprise and questioned the compatibility of polygamy with religious beliefs.
