SECURITY IMPROVEMENT IN THE NORTH: TINUBU’S ACHIEVEMENTS CANNOT BE RUBBISHED BY MISCREANT POLITICIANS

The recent unwarranted condemnation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration by certain political figures, particularly the former governor of Kaduna State, is nothing but an attempt to undermine the remarkable progress made in tackling insecurity in the North. It is unfortunate that a man who once held a leadership position and failed woefully is now desperately seeking relevance by attacking the achievements of the current administration.
As a former governor, he had the opportunity to address insecurity and develop human resources, but instead, he focused on consolidating power and enriching himself with state resources. We, the true defenders of democracy, remained silent then—not because we were blind to his failures, but because we did not want to destabilize our great party. However, now that he has been denied a ministerial appointment, he seeks to destroy the same party that gave him a platform, teaming up with frustrated politicians to actualize his presidential ambition through a new political structure.
Let it be clear: we will not hesitate to tell him the bitter truth. If he cannot take a break from politics for at least two years, we will ensure he takes a permanent political break. No achievement during his tenure can be considered valid without the security of lives and property. His approach to insecurity was more of a media stunt—issuing empty threats and making boastful statements while the situation in Kaduna and the entire Northwest worsened under his watch.
We call on some of our younger generation, especially the self-centered elites who fail to acknowledge the achievements of the Tinubu administration, to reflect. The only way to receive more blessings from God is to appreciate what He has already given.
I am from the South, but I have spent more time in the North. I have seen firsthand how insecurity has ravaged this region for over fifteen years. However, under Tinubu’s leadership, significant strides have been made. The appointment of Hon. Nuhu Ribadu as National Security Adviser was a masterstroke—one that cannot be underestimated by self-proclaimed critics who thrive on noise-making rather than constructive engagement.
If we fail to appreciate what God has done by giving us a capable leader in Tinubu, we risk crippling the progress achieved so far. The damage caused by insecurity, especially in Northern Nigeria, is beyond minor—it is a deep wound. However, Tinubu’s administration has been blessed with the wisdom and capability to bring this crisis to a manageable level.
In Nigeria, we often fail to value relief when it comes because we focus too much on the problems that remain. Yes, there is economic hardship, but things are gradually improving. No single greedy politician should deceive the masses into turning against a president who is working tirelessly to fix the challenges inherited from previous administrations.
We are not ignorant of those who benefitted from the insecurity—they are among us, yet they will never reveal their true motives. It is an insult to the collective intelligence of Nigerians for such politicians to pretend they now care about the masses, after years of exploiting and oppressing them while in power.
We are wiser now. We understand their outdated political games. President Tinubu has achieved in a short time what even our own retired military general could not accomplish. We will continue to pray for his success in addressing other challenges.
We must remain steadfast in supporting President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Together, we will confront and overcome all obstacles, ensuring that Nigeria emerges stronger and more secure.
