Victoria Ajayi Set to lead TVC Communications As CEO

The Board of TVC Communications, which oversees TVC News, TVC Entertainment channel, Max FM, and Adaba FM, has announced a significant leadership change.

After seven years of a successful tenure, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the company, Andrew Hanlon, will be stepping down on April 30, 2024.

He will be replaced by the current deputy chief financial officer of the company, Victoria Ajayi, whose appointment has already been approved by the board.

Since he took over the leadership reins of the company in 2017, Hanlon was said to have implemented transformative changes, driving growth of 330 per cent across all TV, radio, and social media channels. His strategic initiatives were also said to have led to a substantial increase in daily audience numbers from 5.3 million to 23 million by December 2023.

A statement sent to Society Plus added that in the light of Hanlon’s departure, the Board had appointed Ajayi as the new CEO.

Reflecting on his time at the company, Hanlon expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the organisation and work alongside dedicated staff. He acknowledged the achievements made during his tenure and thanked the Board for its support.

Expressing confidence in Ajayi’s ability to continue from where he leaves off, Hanlon said, “I am delighted that our Deputy Chief Financial Officer, Mrs Victoria Ajayi, will now take over the running of the company and bring it to even greater success. I believe she will be the only female to run a national media company in Nigeria at this time, which fits seamlessly with our core values of promoting talented women in the workplace.”

On her part, Ajayi thanked ‘every member of the board for entrusting me with this incredible opportunity to lead our organisation into its next chapter of growth and success’.
