Fajemirokun honoured for selfless service to humanity, business development.
Astute Nigerian Entrepreneur and Wealthy Investor, Chief (Dr) Dele Fajemirokun has been recognised for his selfless services to humanity and business advancement in Nigeria and across the world.
The acknowledgement was made during a courtesy visit to the Head office of AIICO Insurance Plc by the delegate of SB Events Magazine/ Efficiency News ahead of its 15th anniversary and Man of The Year Achievement Awards slated for 7th of March in Lagos.
Speaking during the presentation of LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 2019/2020 to Fajemirokun, Publisher/Editor in Chief of SB events magazine /Efficiency News, Mr. Ojo-Isaac Olusola said that the business magnate a symbol for using his wealth for God and humanity.
“Large numbers of people derive their livelihood from his companies. One of his cardinal business principles and a major key to the success of his vast business empire is his belief in and practice of business partnership. For many of his ventures, he invites friends to be partners, shareholders and employees while he retains controlling interest.
“This model enables him to share risks with others and benefit by from the synergy associated with working with a formidable team of partners rather than just running things solo or as a family business. They built big businesses together, shared larger profits and “laughed over losses”.
Olusola said that another thing he learnt from him was the desire to put the interest of his companies even above his personal interest, “at a time when he was the Chairman of the Board of AIICO Insurance, he used his main house as collateral to enable the company to raise a draft of N650 million in 24 hours to support the Company to beat a regulatory deadline.
Fajemirokun who has been a board room guru for decades and has sat on boards of notable companies in capacity as Chairman Emeritus ranging from Food Concepts, Kings Guards, AIICO Group, Xerox Nigeria to name a few.
Receiving the award on behalf of Chief Dele Fajemirokun, Brand and Marketing Manager of AIICO Insurance Plc, Mr. Fumbi Adesokan said that the recipient will not relent in his contribution towards the advancement of humanity and the business world.
“His philosophy of creating a business empire that would outlive him, his family, and employees of the Company have been the driving force of his life and so he preaches and practices sound corporate governance. His never say die attitude and innovative approach to business is portrayed in how he acquired a significant stake in AIICO and later increased his stake to majority shareholding of the company.
