President Bola Tinubu has signed the National Anthem Bill 2024, restoring the old national anthem, “Nigeria, we hail thee.”

Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced this on Wednesday during a joint session of the National Assembly commemorating the Silver Jubilee of Nigeria’s 4th Republic.

The event also marked the first anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

All you need to know about the new National Anthem

 

1. It was used between 1960-1978
2.It has three stanzas instead against two
3. The anthem is danceable, it is Alujo
4. The beat is Calypso, woro, or disco
5. You can also use keyboard to accompany the anthem
6. There’s no need for glute or trumpet
7. You will need to add gangan or talking drum when playing it
8. Military band will have a hard time adjusting to it
