Lekki Toll Gate Protest : NSCDC LAGOS STATE COMMAND DEPLOYS PERSONNEL TO MAINTAIN PEACE AND ORDER IN LAGOS State

The Commandant NSCDC Lagos state command, Commandant Ayeni P K, deploys both armed personnel, regular routine operation Officers, intelligence and surveillance officers drawn from the State Command Head Quarters and the Eti – Osa Division area, to the Lekki Toll Gate area of Lagos State. In a statement, released by ASCI Abolurin Oluwaseun,
NSCDC Lagos state command spoke person, on behalf of Commandant, Ayeni P K, stated that,

“The deployment was done, as one of the measures the corps is putting in place, to avert another reoccurrence of any possible violent protest in the state. It was also meant to checkmate anyone who wouldn’t care to obey the clear order by government, cancelling any form of violent protest in the state.”

Nevertheless, while the NSCDC remains civil in the way it discharges it’s duties and functions, it frowns against flagrant disobedience to state orders by anyone or any group in the state.

He furthers, assured the command readiness to play  its part in maintaining law, and order as well as protections of both lives and properties.

“We shall continue to play our roles, which includes to assist in the : maintenance of law and order, protections of lives and property in the state and the protection of critical national assets belonging to Federal, State and Local governments amongst others. These and many more, we have been doing very assiduously in the state and across the country.”

The Commandant NSCDC Lagos state command, Commandant Ayeni P K, however, warned his men to maintain high level of  professionalism while discharging their duties.

“He warned and directed that the deployed personnel must be highly professional and ethical in their conduct, while discharging their duties without fear or favour of anyone.” The statement read.
